How to get started

Please reach out by phone or email and let us know about your project. If it seems like Heartwood can be helpful with your goals, then we will coordinate with you to schedule a time for Joel to come visit your site and talk details. Heartwood will follow up with a proposed scope of work for the homeowner to review. The proposal can be adjusted as needed to meet the homeowners goals for the project. Once we settle on a work scope, Heartwood will provide a final work order, contract and invoice for 30% deposit. Once we have a signed contract, the scheduling process can begin.

For new construction projects, a detailed set of building plans can help get the conversation started. Joel can build an initial proposal based off of your digital blueprints. Often, this is followed with a site visit to tighten up the proposal once the building is standing.

If you are interested in pursuing Efficiency Maine insulation rebates, (only available to existing homes)  it is a good idea to visit the Efficiency Maine website ahead of time and go through the income verification process so we can learn what amount of rebate money is available to you.

Even if you don’t qualify for the enhanced rebate categories of low or medium income, there may still be a rebate available for you under the “Any Income” level. 

Beyond the initial process of income verification, Heartwood can help navigate the rest of the rebate paperwork for you. This may include performing a home air tightness test with our blower door for comparison before and after our work.
